The Experience of Giving Gifts

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all not getting too stressed out with all the shopping and preparations that comes with the holiday season just ahead. Remember your health is still the priority when making your plans. You do not want too much drama. Just keep in mind it's just a time that you give gifts and spend time with family and friends.

Don't get too carried away and toss the family budget aside. Planning is of the utmost importance. It allows for things to go smoothely, and to avoid teardrops and anxiety in the middle of January of the new year that is ahead. this is about the business of living life, that is life according to your budget.

This is also a time when you can become creative when thinking about gifts to give to those who you want to give gifts. Be smart about your choices. Like for instance, is the gift going to be useful to the person, is it going to encourage the person to be creative, is it going to help the person become motivated to learn something that he or she is excited about.

Giving a gift is about the EXPERIENCE that both the giver and the receiver feels when the gift is presented. And, of course you want that moment to be full of joy. It really has nothing to do with how much you spent for the gift, besides, you are going to be sticking with your budget, and that is why you have to be very creative about how you are going to create that EXPERIENCE for you and the one who will be receiving the gift.

I hope that this helps you all with the choices you are going to be making. Happiness is the theme during these holidays. These holidays are filled with fun, and laughter, and togetherness too, however, try to keep this feeling going throughout the years ahead. Plants Make Us Happy

If we fill our time taking care of plants we can get rid of stress, it is a scientifically proven thing. Taking care of our green friends (the ones with leaves not Martians!) we will discover new hidden sides of our personality and will get to know better how to love and care for others, firstly because a plant that we won’t care for will die for sure.

Accepting a plant we are assuming a new responsibility, we are adopting a breathing being. This way, we learn just what it means to pay attention to those around us.

We have to concentrate over needs that are exterior to our ego. We become aware of the needs of another being: we know how much water the plant needs, how much light it gets, the intervals it needs to receive water again, and slowly we will transfer these cares and abilities in our social relations. We become more and more aware of others. Visual contact with a beautiful plant makes us realize our own beauty.

Studies show more and more that taking care of plants can be the most efficient method to improve the physical and emotional general condition. They have a serene effect, they can reduce stress and relax muscles and therefore improve the mood people taking care of them are in.

Different studies have demonstrated that the existence of plants reduce mental exhaustion. When we are overwhelmed with work, we just have to look up for a couple of minutes to a plant and we’ll instantly feel more relaxed. In conclusion, plants fascinate and attract people, they break boredom and monotony generated by forced attention. The oxygen generated by plants creates a feeling of mental agility.

Some big plants placed on the right spot will help us insolate ourselves from annoying surrounding noises. The technique is the same as the one of hanging paintings in an empty room to minimize the echo effects. The thick leaves will absorb a part of the noises, including the sound of the phone, Xerox, printer or coffee maker, making these sounds a little bit friendlier.

Develop Self-Empowerement And Unlock Your Social Potential

Power through the people

Have you come across a person who is so naturally friendly that when you put him inside a room of strangers, he'll be friends with almost everyone in no time? We call such a people-person, someone unbelievably nice and charismatic that he can charm anyone into doing anything.
A socially-empowered person achieves so much greatness, basically because of the people that catapult him to success. He earns the trustand all-out support of the people, whom he had helped before. He never runs out of help. He can do anything with the plethora of people behind him. All because he knows he maximizes his social potential!

See, if you know your social skills and you make use of them, you will reach self-empowerment. Self-empowerment is making a general overhauling of your life and turning yourself into a happier and more successful person. If you can be one of those people-persons, then I can't see any reason why you will not succeed. You just have to know how to start.

  • Be genuine.

Hypocrisy will just bring you all the way down. Be genuinely nice and interesting to people. Once they perceive that you are Mr. Hypocrite with selfish intentions, you might as well say goodbye to self-empowerment.

  • Be the greatest listener that you can be.

To earn the love and trust of the people, listen to their problems and sympathize with them. Do not just hear them out, listen to them with your heart. Make eye contact when the person talks to you. Listen as if every word matters, because it does. Brownie points when they find out that there is a confidante in you.

  • Laugh out loud.

I do not mean that you force yourself to laugh for every joke cracked by someone, albeit you do not find it funny at all. This means finding humor in things and not being too darn serious. A person oozing with an awesome sense of humor attracts crowds and eventually, attracts success.

  • Don't forget yourself.

In the process of fluttering around like a social butterfly, you might forget yourself, allowing everyone to push you over. Remember, love and value yourself before anyone else. If you deem yourself respectable and worthy of affection, people will flock to you and not trample on you.

  • Do random acts of kindness.

You don't have to do a John Rockefeller and blow your savings to charity. Little acts of kindness matters the most, and this can be as simple as giving someone a surprise-you-take-care card, or helping an elderly cross the street. When we were kindergarten students, kindness was taught to us and greatly practiced. Now is the time to revive the good deeds and this time, let them stay for good.

  • Contact your old friends.

Sad how some friendships are destined to goodbyes, but thanks to technology, you can do something about it. Relive the good old days by flipping your yearbook and look for the great people whom you want to communicate with again. Adding these old friends to your roster of support peers will surely make you feel good all over.

  • Develop your personality.

Are you grouchy, grumpy and generally morose? Whoa, you can't go through life like that. Get rid of the bad traits and habits that perpetually hamper your growth. And really, who wants a grouchy friend anyway?

  • Be confident.

Be able to stride to the other corner of the room and introduce yourself to people with that winning smile of yours. Just remember: be confident, not arrogant.

  • Practice control.

When angry, don't snap at anyone. Never throw a tantrum. Stay calm and collected. Be adult enough to take control of situation and transform your anger into something more productive and assertive. As soon as people think your anger goes to volcanic proportions easily, they will find it hard to come to you.

  • Keep nurturing your relationships.

Your relationship with your family, friends and significant others is too precious that you must not neglect it whatever happens. Go out and have fun with them. Do things together. Happiness will never fly from your side as long as the people who matter the most are close to you.
In the end, using people for self-empowerment means becoming a better and more lovable person. It's a win-win situation: the people will know they can turn to you anytime and vice versa.

A Breakfast To Control Hunger Until Your Next Meal

Hello Everyone,

Gather your family together in the kitchen to help make this
breakfast bread. It's going to be fun when everyone takes part.
This delicious bread is going to stabilize your weight, and help to
keep you healthy and before long a leaner you.

Don't wait for the holidays, get going now so you won't have to worry
about gaining extra pounds just because you ate all the goodies during
the holidays, ( not if you plan on eating this scrumptious bread that keeps
you full for a long time because it's rich in fibers that you need.)

Recipe: Go Wild With Berries & Bannana Bread.


1 cup unbleached flour
1/4 cup multigrain flour
3/4 cup quick oats
1 tbsp baking powder ( I use 1/2 tsp baking soda) it's your choice
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/4 cups mashed bananas ( about 3 bananas)
2 large eggs
1/3 cup melted butter
( personally, I use 1/2 cup mayonnaise (light if you prefer) because it already has
eggs and oil, and the bread rises just as if you used yeast)
1/2 cup granulated, or brown sugar
1/2 cup mixed berries ( from frozen pack) or, cranberries
1/4 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/4 cup bits of nuts of your chioce, or combination (pine, walnuts, pecan, almonds)

Preheat oven to three hundred and fifty degrees F, grease an 8 1/2 by 4 1/2 by 2 1/2
inch loaf pan .


Combine flour, oats, baking powder or baking soda and salt in large bowl. Whisk and
set aside.
Whisk banana, eggs, and butter, or mayonnaise in in bowl. Add sugar, berries,
and nuts until blended.
Gently stir in banana mix into flour (fold until just combined) careful not to over
Pour batter into greased loaf pan. Bake until lightly browned 45-50 minutes.
Allow to cool for 1 hour. Cut with serated bread knife into 3/4 inch slices, arrange
on platter.

Healthy Cooking For All Seasons

Hello to Everyone,

I hav ethis wonderful recipe that I want to share with you. It will be great during the winter months.

Butternut Squash Soup

2 butternut squash (about 3 lbs each)
2 cups of chicken stock
1/2 cup of cream
1 teaspoon sherry vinegar
kosher salt
freshly ground black pepper

Heat oven to 375 degrees, cut squash in half lengthwise, remove seeds.(also add 1/4 teaspoon of Italian herbs)
Place flesh side down in and oiled casserole pan, cover and roast 1 hour.
(or until flesh is completely soft) remove, let cool, discard skin then
puree with chicken stock in a blender, add cream, season with sherry vinegar, salt and pepper.

Now isn't that easy. It is also quite healthy too. Start getting ready for next summer by doing all your winter fun activities, and eating more veggies and whole grains.
